The New Verity Movie Has a Hudson Valley Connection You Might Recognize

Have You Read The Book Verity?

About a year and a half ago, I started reading again. So much so that I started a little book club with my friends and family.

The book that first got me reading again: Verity by Colleen Hoover. Usually I'm not a Colleen Hoover fan. I didn't love It Ends With Us (the book OR the movie), but Verity had me hooked.

I think I read it in 2 days.

Goodreads describes the novel as a romance thriller. It's one of my favorite books, but its TWISTED. I had to put the book down at one point and go for a walk.

Here's the breakdown of the book:

Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish.

While Lowen attempts to finish the book there are some weird happenings going on in the home she's staying in with Jeremy AND Verity.

New Thriller Filmed at Hudson Valley Mansion

We're not giving you any more spoilers, so you should read the book...or go see the movie as it has been adapted into a feature film.

Verity, starring Dakota Johnson, Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett, hits theaters on Friday October 2nd, 2026.

If you happen to see it in theaters, you may see something that looks familiar.

The Crawford's home in the movie is a mansion in the Hudson Valley. That's according to social media influencers and Book Tok'ers who were invited to the premier week festivities.

One of my favorite TikTok'ers, and a new Hudson Valley resident, Abbie Konnick (she has INCREDIBLE book recommendations if you're trying to get into reading) was invited to the Verity premier and shared her experience:

@abbiekonnick JAW. ON. THE. FLOOR. 🎥🌲📖🍂🎬 seeing where the @Verity came to life was as crazy as you’d think it would be!!!!! #verity #thrillerbooks #veritymovie #bookrecs @Amazon MGM Studios ♬ original sound - Abbie

Where Did Verity Film in The Hudson Valley?

We did a little digging to figure out where in the Hudson Valley Verity filmed.

We're used to seeing casting calls and filming productions in the area, but we didn't hear anything about Verity filming nearby.

From what I can gather, saying Verity filmed in the Hudson Valley is generous. According to WallPaper.com, the home they filmed in was in Armonk.

So, lower-Hudson Valley/Westchester if you want to get technical. We'll take it either way!
