Barstool’s Dave Portnoy Gives Poughkeepsie Detroit-Style Pizza a “Monstrous” Score

Let The Ratings Begin! Barstool Release 2nd Poughkeepsie Pizza Review

In case you missed it, Barstool Sports CEO and Founder Dave Portnoy took a detour to the city and stopped in the Hudson Valley over the nor'easter weekend on September 26th, 2026.

During his detour he stopped at 3 local pizza joints for his infamous One Bite series on social media.

Portnoy visited Pipinelli's Pizza Parlor on Hooker Avenue in Poughkeepsie, Hudson & Packard on Academy Street in Poughkeepsie and Mommò Pizza Napoletana on Robinson Street in Fishkill.

We've waited patiently and on Tuesday September 29th, the first of the 3 video reviews dropped. Pipinelli's was up first and received high praise from the Barstool founder as the Hooker Ave. pizza parlor got a 7.6/7.7 review.

One Bite Review: Monster Detroit Style Pizza in Poughkeepsie

Hudson & Packard is a little different than most Hudson Valley pizzerias. They specialize in Detroit style pizza.

As most One Bite fans know, Portnoy is picky when it comes to his specialty pizza scores. It sounds like the team at Hudson & Packard is familiar. Hudson & Packard is owned by Charlie Webb, who was born in raised in Detroit.

In the latest One Bite review, Portnoy struts out of Hudson & Packard on Academy Street in Poughkeepsie and gets right to it saying:

Now if you know what I say about, and he knew, Detroit style...a high 7 is a great Detroit style.

The video then pans to Webb in the kitchen sharing his One Bite knowledge. Portnoy went on to say he wants his Detroit style pizza to be line an offensive lineman: "look heavy, but ne light on your feet."

If you thought Hudson & Packard was popular before...they're going to be real busy now. Hudson & Packard is located at 23 Academy Street in Poughkeepsie.

They're open Wednesday and Thursday 11:30 am until 8:30 pm. Friday and Saturday 11:30 am to 9:30 pm and 12:30 pm to 8pm on Sunday (they're closed Monday and Tuesday).
