After Over 500 Days Wappingers Falls, NY Pup Finds Forever Family

A Dutchess County pup is finally getting his second "Chance."

The Hudson Valley is home to many animal rescues who hold different adoption events throughout the year. Every weekend it seems more and more families are adding a furry friend to their family.

Unfortunately, not every dog or cat gets a home and they find themselves growing up in the shelter. Chance the dog called CARE of DC home for over 500 days that is until this week.

Chance Gets a Second Chance with New Family

Compassionate Animal Rescue Efforts of Dutchess County, located in Wappingers Falls, is a "No Kill" non profit pet adoption agency who's main mission is to protect the welfare of  animals and promote the humane treatment and well being of dogs, cats and other critters.

One of the ways CARE of DC carries out their mission is by providing temporary shelter and medical care for stray and abandoned animals. Sometime that temporary shelter can last for years.

Case in point: Chance.

According to the CARE of DC Facebook account, Chance had been with the organization for 506. However, just in time for Christmas, Chance got a second chance at life with a new family.
