The 'Hollywood on the Hudson' identity never seems to get old, well not in my book at least. Over the past several years, we've been lucky here in the Hudson Valley to have hosted a number of large film productions which also means big name actors. The area has also become a popular destination for celebrity visitors and also a hub for pretty great musicians, too.

Look at all of the talent that has visited this particular Ulster County restaurant alone:

'Famous Activity' Newburgh Brewing in Late January

Earlier this week we learned that a Hollywood crew would soon be filming a highly anticipated sequel throughout the area, as it was announced that Smile 2 had identified a number of locations, including Newburgh, for production.

Filming actually took place at an apartment complex not far from Newburgh Brewing Company's Colden Street location, and they actually have actually been using the taproom this week as a holding area for cast, crew and extras.

NHL Stanley Cup Champion Team Owner Visits Brewery

Not only has the brewery been filled with Hollywood activity this week, but a prominent figure in the sports world also arranged for a visit to the taproom on Wednesday, January 24th. Bill Foley (center below), owner of the 22-23 NHL championship Vegas Golden Knights hockey team spent some time at Newburgh Brewing on Wednesday afternoon.

Foley spent the earlier part of Wednesday on his old stomping grounds at West Point, where he graduated from in 1967. In addition to the Golden Knights owner having his team in tow, he also brought along the Stanley Cup trophy to the United States Military Academy as well.

The team at Newburgh Brewing Company were elated for Foley to spend some time at the brewery, where they welcomed him with open arms, beer of course, and some custom merchandise that Mixture Prints designed for them.

Newburgh Brewing's Paul Halayko, who coordinated the visit, shared the following:

An absolute thrill of a lifetime for us to welcome Bill Foley, his son Rob, and some friends! They hung with us for over an hour, enjoyed some of our Empire Smash Burgers, and of course Up the Cherries Stout....and took an entire case of the beer for their plane ride back to Vegas! Mr. Foley is an absolute gentleman and a scholar, as nice, humble and down to earth as anyone you’ll ever meet. He brought a championship to Las Vegas, and you can bet he’ll deliver one to Bournemouth!

Though the Stanley Cup itself didn't make an appearance the brewery (it was on it's way to Poland after a big day at West Point), the Newburgh Brewing crew did get to wear Foley's NHL championship ring...
