Toyota Safety Recall: How To Check If Your Vehicle Is Impacted
Next. The recalls continue. This time it involves certain Toyota vehicles. Do you own one?
According to the Toyota website on February 21, 2024, and updated on February 22, 2024, the company announced a safety recall for certain Toyota Tundra and Tundra Hybrid models from 2022 to 2024, Sequoia vehicles from 2023 to 2024 model year and Lexus LX 600 vehicles between 2022 and 2024 model years.
The total amount of Toyota vehicles involved is about 280,000. Toyota notes on its website:
Certain parts of the transmission may not immediately disengage when the vehicle is shifted to the neutral position. This can allow some engine power to continue to be transferred to the wheels and can allow the vehicle to inadvertently creep forward at a low speed when it is on a flat surface and no brakes are applied, leading to an increased risk of a crash.
The software will be updated for the transmission of all the affected Toyota and Lexus vehicles by the dealers. There will be no charge or cost to customers, and all owners of the recalled vehicles will be notified by Toyota by late April 2024 according to the recall notice.
