This Saturday August 24th you should expect delay in the area of the Mid-Hudson Bridge between the hours of 10 AM and 12 PM. Temporary highway alert signs are already flashing the notice to drivers up and down 9W in the area of the bridge which include the town of Highland. The reason for the delays is that this Saturday is SkyRide over the Walkway Over The Hudson.

SkyRide was created to celebrate the Walkway's 10th Anniversary. They have invited Hudson Valley motorcyclists to participate in this one-time-only special ride across the Walkway. It not only celebrates the Walkway's 10 years but also the fact that the Walkway is an important part of the emergency plan for the Hudson Valley. If you didn't know the Walkway is the longest elevated pedestrian bridge in the world.

SkyRide is a ticketed event for both motorcycle riders and spectators. Along with that on the 24th the Walkway Over the Hudson  will be closed to the general public until 1 PM In addition the Hudson Valley Rail Trail will be closed to the public until 12 PM.
