The Hudson Valley has become a hot spot for film makers. It seems every time you turn around there is a new film crew in town. Television and movie makers have found the Hudson Valley to be a very welcoming place to shoot a film. Often some of the people involved in the projects are from the area which means they have an attachment to our communities. I don't know if that is why this great donation happen recently but it will definitely be appreciated by the recipients.

Today the Hudson Valley Film Commission Actors and Crew posted on their Facebook page that a donation was made to an undisclosed woman's shelter who help victims of domestic violence. Apparently there was a project that ended in March that left behind a large amount of brand new baby supplies. The Facebook post credits Tim Bruno for handling the donation.

It is great to hear that these unused items have gone to a place that will make good use of them. I always wonder where movie props go when the filming is done. I have heard through my antique business that films usually hold onto items on the off chance they need a re-shoot. I have also heard there are big warehouses full of items from old movies and TV shows somewhere in New Jersey. I guess set designs would shop there first before they go hunting for things at an antique store. Rumor has it that every so often they auction stuff off stuff from the warehouse. Of course things like the Ruby Slippers from the Wizard of Oz or Harry Potter's wand are safe in a collection somewhere not a warehouse in Jersey but I bet there is still some cool stuff.
