Hudson Valley Man Charged With Rape, Teen Sexual Abuse
A Hudson Valley man is accused of raping a teen, while a teen allegedly sexually abused someone.
On Nov. 16, deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff's Office received a complaint in regard to a sex offense that occurred in the Town of Esopus.
Police were told a 16-year old woman engaged in sexual intercourse with a 23 or 24-year-old man.
Detectives identified the suspect as Jose D. Vasquez, 23, of Hurley and charged him with rape, a felony. Authorities announced the arrest on Monday.
On Sunday around 1:45 a.m., members of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office responded to a home in High Falls for a report of a victim of a sex offense.
An extensive investigation revealed the victim was subjected to sexual contact without consent at a home in Olivebridge the night before, police say.
Deputies conducted a preliminary investigation and identified a suspect. Austin J. Temple, 18, of Accord was charged with sexual abuse, a felony.
Police didn't release details regarding their investigations. Both were sent to Ulster County Jail. Vasquez in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $15,000 secured bond, Temple in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $50,000 secured bond.
