Around 4:15 a.m., on Black Friday, a fire began inside a home on Coach Lane in the Town of Newburgh. At the time of the fire, 16 people were inside the home.
A two-year-old boy was killed in the fire. His mother died from her injuries the following day. Over 20 were injured.

The Town of Newburgh PBA, fire departments from Orange Lake and Winona Lake, as well as the Walden Savings Bank, have combined to start a collection drive for the family.
The family is in need of unwrapped toys, clothes, household items, gift cards, or money, officials say. Donations are being accepted at all four locations mentioned above.
The girls are aged 9, 4 and 1. The boys are 11 and 8.
