Hudson Valley Bridges Earn More Than $47 Million To Kick Off 2017

Hudson Valley bridges earned more than $47 million in revenue in the first nine months of 2017, here's how it all breaks down.

According to new figures released by the New York State Bridge Authority, overall, traffic was down slightly on the Hudson Valley's busiest, the Newburgh Beacon bridge with around 19 million cars but $22,830,813 was still taken in via tolls. Traffic also decreased on the Mid Hudson with 10.8 million cars crossing, but the Kingston-Rhinecliff, Bear Mountain and Rip Van Winkle Bridges all saw slight increases. In terms of overall traffic, the Rip Van Winkle saw the largest jump with more than 50,000 additional drivers year over year.
