Howard Finkelstein, of Finkelstien & Partners, Dies at 84
Howard Finkelstein passed away December 27, 2017 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Brooklyn, New York where he attended Tilden High School. Following his military service during the Korean War, he attended Brooklyn Law School. In 1961, he began practicing law in Newburgh, eventually founding the law firm that is now Finkelstein & Partners. He retired in 1992. Howard dedicated his professional career to helping others in need. He served as President of the Greater Newburgh Bar Association, Orange County Bar Association, B’nai B’rith, proudly served on the Board of Directors of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, and the Advisory Board of the Bank of New York. He was also a member of Brooklyn Law School’s President’s Advisory Council. While his professional accomplishments were many, Howard will most be remembered for always being light-hearted, having a joke to share and being a loving father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed. Howard was predeceased by his wife Diane. He is survived by his wife Lola Trocino, sons Joel (Bonna), Ronald and Andrew (Lisa), grandchildren Alex, Doug, Max, Jesse, Zoe, Sydney and Emma, stepdaughters Deena (Pete) and Corrine (Dennis) and step-grandchildren Jake, Aidan, and Riley. He leaves a brother Jay (Linda), sister Ellen (Harvey) and brother-in-law Arnold Pearlstone, along with many nieces and nephews. There will be a private burial service.
