Hipolito Malave, 84, a resident of Hopewell Junction and previously of New York City, died on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at home.

Born on February 4, 1933 in Anasco, Puerto Rico, Hipolito was the son of Alejandro and Ana (Ruiz) Malave. He worked as a housekeeper for Wayne Nursing Home in the Bronx.

He loved spending time with his great grandchildren who always kept him smiling. He enjoyed planting, shoveling, helping around the house and was loved by so many people.

Survivors include his wife Luz Hernandez Malave; his children, Luz N. Velez and her husband Luis T. of Hopewell Junction, Carmen I. Malave of Wappingers Falls, and Alfonso Malave of New York City; his grandchildren, Jason Velez and his wife Jennifer, David Melendez and his wife Kristen, and Marlene Albon and her husband Keith; his great great grandchildren, Michael Anthony Velez, Julian Tomas Velez, Victoria Marie Velez, Lorena Iris Melendez, Leon David Melendez, Steven Christopher Albon and Elijah Robert Albon; and his 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 3-7pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 5:30pm at the funeral home.
