The National Hurricane Center's latest forecast for Tropical Storm Hermine holds some hope for the Hudson Valley's last unofficial weekend of summer.

Hudson Valley residents planning barbecues and outdoor fun for Labor Day weekend have been anxious over the possibility of Tropical Store Hermine becoming a major party pooper. Well, it now looks like things may be looking brighter for this weekend.

The latest data from the National Weather Service shows the storm's path has shifted slightly south, bringing the center of the storm just off the coast of Delaware by Monday. It's not likely that the Hermine's direct path will cross over the Hudson Valley this weekend, but some rain may still be a factor.

Saturday is expected to be sunny with a high temperature of 80. On Sunday there is only a 20% chance of rain with a high temperature of 79. Temperatures will hold steady in the upper 70s through Labor Day with an increased chance of rain at 40%.

While we won't won't exactly have clear skies and sunshine all weekend long, it's a much better forecast than earlier in the week when we were expected to see flooding and major rainfall amounts.
