You may think fall in the Hudson Valley is all about apples, but it's actually about grape stomping.

Every day I am reminded why I'm thrilled to live in the Hudson Valley. There's always so much going on and so many great local businesses to check out. I know the Hudson Valley is basically the apple empire of the world, but we also have some fantastic award-winning wineries. The Shawangunk Wine Trail being the largest wine trail in the Hudson Valley encompasses roughly 13 different wineries and cideries.

Let's get real here: I'm picking a winery over an apple orchard every time, especially if there is an event going on. And for the end of September through October, three local wineries are hosting grape stomping festivals. A grape stomping festival is exactly what it sounds like: you get to stomp grapes! Don't worry, they don't make wine with the gross feet grape juice, that's just for fun. And of course, you can drink the actual wine from the wineries while you do it. Here's a list of all the grape stomping festivals in the Hudson Valley for fall 2019.
