RIVERHEAD – Frank A. Lettieri, 83, a resident of Riverhead, Long Island since 2010, died on January 22, 2018 at Acadia Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. He previously lived in Henderson, Yonkers, and the Bronx.

Born in the Bronx on November 19, 1934, he was the son of the late Primo and Julia (DiMare) Lettieri. Frank proudly served in the US Army National Guard from 1953-1965. He retired as a contract specialist from the US Post Office in 1989 after 32 years of service. He was a member of National Active and Retired Federal Employees of New York (NARFE) Chapter #23 in Manhattan and the Bronx. A diehard NY Yankees fan, he also enjoyed bowling and collectables.

Frank is survived by the love of his life, Filomena Meriluoto of Riverhead; his siblings, John Lettieri and his wife Johann of Wappingers Falls; Ralph Lettieri and his wife Marie of Hopewell Junction; and Virginia Russiello and her husband Robert of West Hempstead; his stepson, Roy Steven Meriluoto of the Bronx; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his brother, Vincent Lettieri in 2017.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 1-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 11:30 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery with military honors.
