Four Hudson Valley Residents Charged With Drug Possesion
Ulster County officers arrested four Newburgh residents including three teenagers on narcotics possession charges.
On Tuesday, State Troopers in the Town of Lloyd pulled over a car driven by Octavious J. Cooper, 19, of Newburgh for an equipment offense. During the traffic stop police found Cooper and his three passengers to all be in possession of cocaine and heroin.
According to New York State Police in Highland, Cooper, Robert M Durell, 23, an 18 year-old male and 17-year-old male were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd-degree, a felony, as well as a misdemeanor for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th-degree. All four were also charged with tampering with physical evidence, a felony.
In addition, Cooper and the 17-year-old were both charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 5th-degree, a felony. Durell was additionally charged with a felony of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 4th-degree.
All four defendants were arraigned in the Town of Plattekill Court and were each remanded to Ulster County Jail on $250,000 cash / $500,000 bond. All four our due in the Town of Lloyd Court on Thursday.
