Fern A. Blair, a Cornwall Resident, Dies at 93

Fern A. Blair, 93 of Cornwall, entered into rest on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. The daughter of the late William and Marjorie (Applegate) Ego, she was born December 13, 1923 in Newark, NJ. She was married to the late Kurt Boentgen and the late John Blair Sr.

Fern was a Registered Nurse in Andover, NJ. In her younger years she was a Rockette at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan. She loved tap dancing and was a “Cornwall Tapper”. Fern was a member of Cornwall Presbyterian Church and a volunteer at Elant at Newburgh.

Survivors include her son, John Blair and his wife Maureen of Fishkill, her daughter Christine Bergensten and her husband Robert of Florida; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to Kurt and John, she was predeceased by her daughter, Denise Johnson, in 2016.

Visitation will be held from 11 am – 12 pm on Friday, August 25 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A service will be held following the visitation at 12 pm at the funeral home, with burial following in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh.
