Customers are mourning the loss of their favorite Hudson Valley cafe.

Far too many Hudson Valley businesses have announced closures this month. Last week The Sweet Onion Brewhouse in Florida announced they were shutting their doors for good. And just a few days ago Cafe Aurora in Poughkeepsie announced that their building is for sale and they may soon close down after 80 years in business.

Now, Hudson Valley customers are mourning the loss of yet another favorite spot. According to a Facebook announcement on their page, the 9G Firehouse Cafe in Hyde Park will is permanently closed. The bar/restaurant opened just over a year ago on Violet Avenue in the building that was formerly occupied by Clancy's Cafe, and before that was the Inside Scoop.

According to the owners, John and Tina, the cafe is being closed due to "personal reasons." Some loyal customers took the news very hard. Adam Goldfish wrote, "I had several exceptional meals and countless laughs at the Firehouse Cafe, I will definitely miss stopping in and listening to John's stories. Good luck to the two of you with your future endeavors."

Another customer, Layne Lynn, said "So sorry. I have eaten here a lot and have never had a bad meal. Hope all is well. Thanks for adding flavor to Rte 9G and Hyde Park."

Others wondered why businesses can't seem to remain open in that location. "I'm beginning to think that place is cursed." wrote Scotti Cooper. "Everything that opens there closes within a year or two."

The building at 815 Violet Avenue is currently for sale or lease.
