Fatal Motorcycle Accident On Taconic

State Police are investigating after a fatal motorcycle accident on the Taconic State Parkway that left one 22-year-old man dead.

On Sunday, New York State Police from the Stormville were dispatched to investigate a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred on the Taconic State Parkway between Bryant Pond Road and Peekskill Hollow Road.

Police say about a group of about 6 motorcycles were traveling north at a high speed. The lead motorcyclist was unable to make a turn on the roadway, lost control of his bike, and hit the center guide rail. 22-year-old Arturo J. Valenti, of Queens, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several northbound vehicles reduced their speed after witnessing the crash. A second motorcyclist hit the back of a car and was ejected from his motorcycle. 23-year-old Steven Garciaarcila, of Maspeth, was transported to Hudson Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
