Dutchess County Horse Shows in Kentucky Derby
The results of the 2018 Kentucky Derby are in. According to the Courier Journal, this is the rainiest Kentucky Derby in history.
Audible, the horse running the Kentucky Derby that was born in Dutchess County, made the top three in the race. On Saturday, May 5, 2018, Audible showed in the 144th Kentucky Derby, according to Bleacher Report.
Audible had gate number 5 for the derby, which has been historically favorable to horses. This year, gate 5 was no different for Audible as they came in 3rd. According to CBS Sports, Audible's odds were 6-1.
Amazon sponsored Audible, as Audible is the name of their audiobook company. The horse wore Amazon's Audible logo during the Derby. Amazon was also offering everyone a free download of American Pharoah if Audible won the Derby, but that is not going to happen.
The next major horse races that Audible will be in are the remaining races of the Triple Crown: the Preakness and Belmont Stakes. Audible is not eligible to win the Triple Crown since they showed in the Derby.
