Donald A. Hawrylak, a Plattekill Resident, Dies at 66

Donald A. Hawrylak of Plattekill, entered into rest Wednesday, May 10, 2017 after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma over the past year. He was 66.

The son of the late Michael F. and Annabell M. (Birdsall) Hawrylak, he was born August 15, 1950 in Cold Spring, NY.

Donald worked at SUNY New Paltz College for 34 years before retiring in the late summer of 2012.

Survivors include his sister Michelle A. Pfleger and husband, Dennis of Plattekill, much loved nephew, Brian Pfleger and his fiancé, Amanda Steeprock, great-nephew, Jackson; cousin, Scot Davis and his wife Tracy and their son, Cody.

Visitation for family and friends will take place Monday, May 15th from 10 a.m. to Noon at White, Venuto & Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 North Plank Rd., Town of Newburgh. Funeral service will commence at Noon following visitation. Minister Steve Sherwood will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Middlehope, NY.

A special thanks to his oncologist Dr. William Cieplinski and to his wonderful, caring nurse's from the 4th and 5th floors of St. Luke's Hospital and to Dr. Joseph for her care and compassion the last twenty six days of his life and her constant support of all our family members.
