Anthony Della Pietra, a Poughkeepsie Resident, Dies
Anthony Della Pietra died Saturday September 16th after a long and hard fight battle with COPD.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, of 62 years, as well as his son Dr. Angelo Della Pietra, wife Donna, their four children, Julia, Jake, Sophia and Luke, his daughter Maria Johannesen and son Matthew and daughter Olga, husband Patrick and son Pasquale.
Born and raised in Castelpoto, Benevento, Italy he was the son of Maria Grazia (Muccio) and Angelo Della Pietra.
Although he was a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, NY he was always proud of his Italian heritage. He was employed as a master tailor at the Up-to-Date Company for 35 years and created exquisite suits and wedding gowns.
His wife was the love of his life and his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy.
He enjoyed going to Monticello Race Track, playing cards and socializing with his Italian friends. He played a key role in bringing many Italian families to the U.S.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday September 23rd 9:30am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie.
Entombment will follow at Saint Peter's Cemetery Mausoleum in Poughkeepsie.
