Airbnb Succeeds In Dutchess, Ulster County As Local Tourism Booms
The Hudson Valley has become one of the biggest tourist attractions in New York. Craft beverages, nature, close to the city but away from the craziness of it, what's not to love about our area?
Even though New York passed some of the strictest home-sharing laws in the country, Airbnb has still found success in the mid-Hudson Valley. Westchester Magazine said that a variety of towns in the local region have seen a rise in Airbnb, and other short-term rentals.
According to the article, most of the top cities in the Hudson Valley for rental success are in Dutchess and Ulster County. Specifically, Rhinebeck, New Paltz, Woodstock, Saugerties, Amenia, Millbrook, and Millerton.
I've never stayed in an Airbnb, but the Hudson Valley has some really cool ones. You can rent an entire house in Olivebridge for a month, or stay in the what Forbes called the 'Most Beautiful Tiny House' in Marlboro. There's a really cool geodome in Sullivan County and some beautiful cabins across the area.
