Three retailers with locations in the Hudson Valley announced they'll close over 300 stores across the country on the same day.

According to Business Insider, JCPenney, Gap, and Victoria's Secret have announced they are collectively closing over 300 stores across the United States. The weird part? The stores all announced the plans to shutter stores on the same day.

Gap will be closing 230 of its stores over the course of the next two years, according to Business Insider. Gap has Hudson Valley locations in Mamaroneck and Mt. Kisco, as well as outlet locations in The Woodbury Commons Premium Outlets and Middletown.

JCPenney, who has been struggling in recent years, announced plans to close 27 stores in 2019, including 18 full department stores and 9 home and furniture stores. Business Insider reports that sales fell 4% in the last quarter. JCPenney has locations in Poughkeepsie and Middletown.

Finally, Victoria's Secret will be closing 53 stores across the country. Business Insider writes that their sales fell 3% in the fourth quarter, and cited declining performance as the reason to close stores. Victoria's Secret has locations in Poughkeepsie, Kingston, Middletown, Nyack, and White Plains.
