17 Years Later Police Continue to Investigate Homicide of Hudson Valley Women

The New York Sate Police are continuing to ask for the public assistance in a case that dates back to the fall of 2000.

According to officials back on September 30th of 2000 police were notified of a body found along the Hudson River just south of the city of Hudson. Two duck hunters found a female, dead, lying on the east shoreline of the river in a secluded area by accessible only by a boat launch off of Hallenbeck Road in the town of Greenport.

Police say the victim Jacqueline McCalo who had been missing for about two weeks, was stabbed several times in her torso. Although several leads have been pursued since the case was opened nearly 17 years ago not one has lead to the capture of the killer.

McCalop was a black female, 5’5” tall, and weighed approximately 110 pounds. Police believe someone in the area of Hudson may have information that could lead to an arrest and finally give closure to McCalop’s family.
