America was shocked when news broke that Toys R Us would be closing their doors for good.

Social media created memes and posts reminiscing about childhood stories that included places like Toys R Us and Blockbuster. While it's sad that Toys R Us is done for good, its departure is making way for another popular toy company to make a comeback.

Think back now for a minute. Wherever you did your shopping, whether it be the Hudson Valley Mall or The Poughkeepsie Galleria. Do you remember KB Toys?

ABC 7 News is reporting that Toys R Us' former competitor that went out of business in 2009 will be making a comeback.

Ellia Kassoff posted to LinkedIn stating that his company, Strategic Marks, is planning on bringing back the popular KB Toys.

The plan had been in the works for some time now. In the post, Kassoff says, "With the demise of Toys 'R' Us, this week, we have now accelerated our business plan and hope to have our stores up and running before Christmas."

When news started to spread that KB would return Kassoff said he had received many  messages "of support as we try to #savethetoyindustry."

Kassoff is hopeful for the return of KB Toys saying, "When we're ready, you will be very happy with the results and we believe our model can withstand both online as well as other large competitors for not only the short-term but long-term as well."

We'll keep you updated on a possible KB Toys return to the Hudson Valley.
