Why was this famous actor, who owns a home in the Hudson Valley, pledging his support to Gov. Cuomo?

In a video posted on Youtube Actor and environmentalist Mark Ruffalo shared how New York has led the way in protecting the environment for future generations.

According to the Governor’s Office, Ruffalo highlights the historic progress state officials are making to protect our natural resources.

In the video, Ruffalo calls himself “a proud New Yorker.” He adds clean air, clean water, uncontaminated food and taking our kids to parks “are all things we take for granted, we have to fight for them if we want to guarantee them for future generations.”

Ruffalo praises Gov. Cuomo’s leadership to tackle these problems head on. He notes the state budget includes a record $300 million for the Environmental Protection Fund, $130 Million to enhance parks and state lands across the state, and the largest growth in the Adirondack Parkland in a Century.

“Mark’s right: what really defines New Yorkers is our willingness to take on tough challenges,” Gov. Cuomo said in a statement. That’s why we’re moving forward with an unprecedented environmental plan that builds on our five years of momentum and ensures that future generations can enjoy a cleaner, greener Empire State.”
