The actress who plays Crazy Eyes on Netflix's Orange is the New Black will be spending some time in Poughkeepsie.

Uzo Aduba made her singing debut on NBC's live production of The Wiz, and now she's bringing those singing skills to the Hudson Valley. According to EW, the actress will be appearing in a workshop for a musical adaptation of The Secret Life of Bees.

Vassar College's Powerhouse Theater will be holding the workshop from July 27-30. The musical is based on the book of the same title. A movie version of The Life of Bees starring Jennifer Hudson was released in 2008.

Powerhouse Theater workshops are used to showcase possible new plays and musicals that may someday make it to Broadway. Lin Manuel Miranda famously showed off an early version of the hit show Hamilton to Poughkeepsie audiences years before the production became a worldwide sensation.

A musical based on the life of Princess Diana is also being presented in a workshop this summer and seems to have the most buzz as being Broadway's next potential hit.
