Weekend Snowstorm Will Impact All of the Hudson Valley
Despite many hoping, we wouldn't see snow this weekend, it's coming, with snowstorm warnings in effect for all of the Hudson Valley.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Putnam and Sullivan counties for Saturday into Sunday.
The advisory in Orange and Putnam starts at 5 p.m. Saturday and lasts until 7 a.m. Sunday. In Dutchess and Ulster, the advisory starts at 7 p.m. Saturday and goes until 7 a.m. Sunday. The advisory goes from 4 a.m. Saturday until 4 a.m. Sunday in Sullivan County.
The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning from 5 p.m. Saturday until 7 p.m. Sunday for Rockland and Westchester counties.
Total Snowfall Predicted by the National Weather Service:
- Orange and Putnam: 4 to 6 inches
- Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan: 2 to 5 inches
- Rockland and Westchester: 4 to 7 inches
"Plan on slippery road conditions. Be prepared for reduced visibilities at times. Snowfall rates up to a half an inch an hour are possible," the National Weather Service warns.
Total Snowfall Predicted by Hudson Valley Weather:
- Most of the Hudson Valley: 3 to 6 inches
- Lower Hudson Valley: 4 to 8 inches
- Northern Hudson Valley/ Northern Catskills: 1 to 3 inches
According to Hudson Valley Weather, in their final snow forecast, snow will develop from Southwest to Northeast between 5 and 8 p.m., with snowfall the steadiest from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m.
