Does your travels bring you through Village of Monroe on a daily basis? If so, you might want to heed the following detours, listed below. On July 5, 2017 the New York State Department of Transportation will begin the work to replace the Route 208 overpass that goes over the Heritage Trail area. The work, according to a press release, is expected to take place through the month of November.
The following detours were listed as potential in the same press release:
Northbound Route 208 Detour From Route 17M:
Take Route 17M North approx. 4 miles to Route 17 East /Route 6 East entrance ramp.
Follow Route 17/6 East to Exit 130.
For Route 208 North, Blooming Grove - turn right off of Exit 130 ramp onto Route 208 North.
For Route 208 South, Village of Monroe, North Main St., Schunnemunk Road - turn left off of Exit 130 ramp onto Route 208 South
Southbound Route 208 Detour From Route 208, North Main Street, Schunnemunk Road:
Take Route 208 to Route 17 West/Route 6 West entrance ramp.
Follow Route 17/6 West to Exit 128. Turn Right off ramp onto Craigville Road.
Follow Craigville Road to Route 17M.
For Route 17M South, Village of Monroe - turn Left onto Route 17M.
For Route 17M North, Chester - turn Right onto Route 17M.
