Yesterday I went and saw "IT" at Regal Cinemas in Poughkeepsie, it was also the first time I've been to the movies since last February.

Back in high school I would go to the movies every weekend and I enjoy checking out new movies now and then. I don't think any one would argue that going to the movies is expensive. For instance I saw a movie at 12:30pm on a Monday morning and it still cost $10.45.

Forget seeing a movie on the weekend during prime-time. That could run you almost $16. Add in some snacks are you're spending at least $25. Yikes.

There's a fun little movie going secret that I'm just finding out about and it's called MoviePass.

MoviePass is a $10 monthly pass to see whatever movie your movie going heart desires.

All you have to do is order a card (which shows up two to three weeks after you place the order), then download the app. The app will let you search through theaters near you. Select a movie and a theater and hop in the car. Your tickets will be waiting at the box office.

A simple and affordable way to go to the movies? Sign me up.

MoviePass is accepted at all major movie theaters here in the Hudson Valley
