Ulster County K9’s Awarded New Body Armor

We love our Hudson Valley K9's and want them to be just as safe as their handlers.

Over a year ago news came in that one Hudson Valley K9 would be receiving safety armor. The Monroe Police Department received stab and bullet resistant vest for their K9, Simba. The vest was donated from Vested Interest and usually run any where from$1,795 to over $2,000.

K9 protection is becoming more and more important to local departments and the Ulster County Police Department has become a whole lot safer.

The Ulster County K9 unit has been awarded 3 new bullet and stab resistant vest according to a Facebook post. K9's Farrell, Talon and Kwin will be the recipients of the new armor that was given to them by the non-profit Canine Wounded Heroes.

Depending on the level of protection of the vest these can cost anywhere from $1300 to $1800. Canine Wounded Heroes works out of Larkspur California and with the help of corporate sponsors have been able to distribute 83 vests.
