Tyson Recalls Over 11 Million Pounds Of Chicken
Tyson has issued a massive recall affecting nearly 12 million pounds of chicken strips.
According to CBS News, Tyson Foods Inc. has recalled 11.8 million pounds of chicken strips. Specifically, they're frozen, ready-to-eat chicken strips. The recall is because of possible metal contamination. The recall was announced on May 4, 2019 that was in addition to a prior recall of ver 69,000 pounds of chicken strips from March 2019.
CBS News states that the recall comes from multiple consumer complaints. There have been a total of six complaints. Three of those complaints were regarding alleged oral injuries from the product.
Tyson's website reports that the products recalled all have the establishment code P7221 and a “use by” date of October 1, 2019, to March 7, 2020. These products were sold to wholesalers and retailers and were distributed across the U.S.
