WAPPINGERS FALLS - Theodore DeRosa, 72, an area resident since 2007 and formerly of Yonkers, Brooklyn and the Bronx, died on July 2, 2017 at Phelps Memorial Hospital.

Born in the Bronx on May 1, 1945, he was the son of Anthony and Rosa Buonocore DeRosa. Ted had worked as a dispatcher for Ferraoli Industries in Brooklyn until his retirement in 2007.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by the love of his life, Helen Brandenberger, in 1969; and his brother, Ernest DeRosa, in 2003.

He is survived by his daughter, Desiree Slater and her husband, Daniel. He will forever be remembered as “Grandpa Teddy” to Daniel Jr., Dominic and Deslyn Slater, and Amanda Macaluso. He is also survived by his sister, Angela DeCarlo; his brother, Anthony DeRosa; his sister-in-law, Emily DeRosa; his niece & nephews, Leanne & Fred Signore, Scott & Peter DeCarlo, Jr.; his Godson, Ernest DeRosa, Jr.; and great-nephews and niece, Steven & Scott Signore, Matteo DeRosa, and Natalie & Peter DeCarlo III.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday at 11am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
