I have never gone skydiving, but the people I know who have say it's an amazing experience. And now, the Hudson Valley's skydivers have an opportunity to show off their skills.

The annual North American Skydiving Championships are being held at Skydive the Ranch in Gardiner on Saturday, August 12th. The championships will consist of six rounds of four-way, and they're still looking for participants or people who want to join up on teams.

As a newcomer to the sport, I'm a little unclear how you beat someone else at skydiving. Is it a race to the ground? Is it who can stay in the air the longest? Is it a midair fight to the death? As of now, that's unclear to me, but this should definitely hold interest to anybody who likes to skydive and maybe wants to take it to the next level.
