Should You Get a Flu Shot This Year?
It is that time of year, when you ask yourself, "Should I get a flu shot? Will it really help me?" According to a press release from Governor Cuomo's office, there were over 23,000 people who affected by the flu in New York State last year and 6 children who died.
Flu season typically runs from October through May. The CDC, Center for Disease Control, is recommending that everyone from the age of 6 months and older to receive a flu shot. There are different types of flu vaccines, depending on your age and what you might possibly be allergic to.
Who should not get a flu shot? Persons under the age of 6 months and people with life threatening allergies to ingredients in the flu shot.
Where can you get a flu shot or general vaccine? You can get it at most pharmacy's, urgent care centers and your doctor's office.
