Robert P. “Bob” Schaffer, a Lifetime Newburgh Resident, Dies at 63
Robert P. “Bob” Schaffer, 63, a lifetime resident of Newburgh, entered into rest on January 17, 2018. The son of Richard Schaffer and the late Lyndell (Martin) Schaffer, he was born August 15, 1954 in Newburgh.
Bob was a self-employed contractor and enjoyed Civil War re-enacting. He loved his family and friends and was loved and respected by so many. Words cannot describe what a great man he was, and he will be missed by many.
In addition to his father Richard, he is survived by his spouse, JoAnn (Denton) Schaffer, at home; children, Cara (Schaffer) Weber and husband Donnie and Amy (Schaffer) Meyer and husband TJ; brothers, David Schaffer and wife Cindy and Rick Schaffer and wife Mari; grandchildren, Kylie Meyer, Alyssa Coonrod and Trace Meyer; mother-in-law Anna Denton; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother Lyndell, he was pre-deceased by his father-in-law Edward Denton.
Per Bob’s request, please dress casually for his services, with visitation from 2-6 pm on Sunday, January 21 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am on Monday, January 22 at St. Mary’s Church, Marlboro.
