If you are a big fan of microwaveable noodles, you may want to check your supply for red miso rice ramen noodle soup, masala curry rice ramen noodle soup, and tom yum rice noodle soup - all containing organic brown rice noodles.  It appears the microwavable packaging isn't microwave safe after all, and could cause some serious burn hazards.

On December 13th, Lotus Foods issued a recall for Ramen Noodle Soup Cups after receiving 12 reports of the cups becoming extremely hot, even sparking or catching fire while in the microwave.  The recall was issued by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Lotus says the noodle cups were sold between August 2018 and November 2018 at specialty stores such as Whole Foods Market, or online at Amazon.com.  They advise consumers to stop using the recalled cups immediately and to contact them for a product replacement coupon.

The recall impacts about 239,000 units of ramen products.
