Ralph Parrish, 92, of Port Jervis, NY, entered into rest on Thursday, July 6, 2017. The son of the late Isaac and Mary (Wagner) Parrish, he was born May 28, 1925 in Honesdale, PA. He married Marguerite (Ryan) Parrish on November 30, 1946 in Honesdale, PA. Marguerite predeceased Ralph in 2002.

Ralph proudly served his country in the US Army, the 162nd infantry regiment during World War II, serving in the Philippines and New Guinea. After the war he relocated to Newburgh, NY to raise his family. He was employed by Atlas Fibers at Beacon Terminal as a Maintenance and boilerman, for over 50 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and VFW of Newburgh.

Ralph was an outdoorsman, handyman and family man who enjoyed family camping, fishing and nature. He also enjoyed watching his sports teams and golf. Ralph is respected by most as a kind, true gentleman from a bygone era. He will always be remembered as a good man and will be truly missed.

He is survived by his sons, Gerald of Port Jervis, NY, Mark and his wife Gloria of Westampton, NJ, Keith and his wife Terri of Port Jervis, NY, and Kevin of Newburgh; grandchildren, Joel, from Newtown CT. and Jill of Newburgh, Corey of Baltimore, MD, Lauren of Boston, MA. and Derek of Westampton, NJ; also several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his 3 brothers, Ray, Harold and Charles, and his grandson, Kyle.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm on Tuesday, July 11 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, with a service and military honors commencing at 3:30
