Police are investigating after a Poughkeepsie man was shot at for the second time.

Friday around 5:00 p.m., City of Poughkeepsie Police Dispatch received several calls reporting shots fired and a possible shooting victim in the area of Soldier’s Fountain located at 120 Market Street.

Responding officers found the victim, a 22-year-old from Poughkeepsie, near the parking lot of 22 Montgomery Street. The unnamed man was transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for his injuries which are not considered life threatening, police say.

The victim told police he doesn’t know who shot him. Officials believe that because this is the second time the man has been shot at and that he was the intended target of the shooter.
