It's been quite a year, we agree, and I don't think any of us expected 2021 to be ending in the fashion it is, with COVID numbers back on the rise, restrictions going back into place, and local businesses having to once again close their doors out of precaution.  Though with new guidance for isolation and quarantine length now in effect, perhaps closures won't have to last all that long.

Sadly, another favorite Hudson Valley spot to grab a brew and great grub has decided to close for a bit of time due to COVID-19 related precaution.

Sloop Brewing Company, located in Hopewell Junction, posted an update on their social media early Tuesday evening, advising their customers of an update regarding hours this week.  They wrote:

After a staff member experienced symptoms consistent with COVID19, we have decided to close the tasting room this full week (Wednesday through Sunday) with plans in place to reopen next Wednesday January 5th out of an abundance of caution. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we do everything we can to keep our community safe.
While many people will definitely be missing out on Sloop's offerings in the days leading up to the new year, they did share some exciting news for 2022 - teasing some new beer releases, new hops, and a major cliffhanger that talked about resurrecting some old classics into the world....we can't wait to hear more.
The announcement from Sloop Comes just a few days after another popular Hudson Valley top spot announced they were going to be closing due to a few members of their staff testing positive for COVID.  Just days before Christmas, Mill House Brewing Company in Poughkeepsie shared the news that they would be closing until at least December 29th, though possibly longer, due to confirmed cases on their team.  They have since provided an update that they will reopen for business on Thursday December 30th at 4pm.
