The newest Popeye's will officially be open to the public today in Dutchess County.

Everything from construction problems to snow storms have caused the new Popeye's, which will be at the old Nellie Kelly’s location right off the arterial 44/55 (535 Haight Avenue) in Poughkeepsie, to delay their opening.

The fast food restaurant is set to open to the public today, according to a few Wolf listeners, and if you enjoy Louisiana fast chicken this will definitely be a great place to check out. The chain features fried chicken, seafood and Cajun inspired meals all at fast food speed.

The new location will feature 46 seats in you want to dine at the restaurant and two drive thru lanes so the wait for your meal should be quick.

This will be the first Dutchess County Popeye's to open. It will employ about 65 people and it joins two other Popeye's in the Hudson Valley, one in Kingston and the other in New Windsor.
