Three people were arrested in Ulster County after police say over $4,000 worth of heroin was found in their vehicle.

Just before midnight on Sunday, Deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle on Route 28 in the Town of Hurley for a traffic violation. Police say 20-year-old Francesca Lorusso was driving the vehicle with a suspended license.

A further investigation by police revealed that Lorusso and two other passengers were transporting a large amount from heroin from New York City to Oneonta. Officials allege they found over 400 bags or decks of heroin hidden inside the vehicle.

Lorusso, 34-year-old Ricardo Korianski, and Jason E. Blass, 36, all from Oneonta were all charged with two counts of 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies. Lorusso was additionally charged with criminal possession of a hypodermic needle, a misdemeanor, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

The defendants were arraigned in Town of Hurley Justice Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail and $100,000 property bond.
