A Millerton man was arrested following a two-car auto accident, where according to police he struck the driver of the other vehicle before speeding off.

State Troopers from the Wappingers barracks were dispatched Tuesday night to a property damage auto accident on Interstate-84.

Troopers interviewed Joseph J. Senese, 33, of Milford, Pennsylvania, who reported that he was operating a  tow truck eastbound on I-84. The man told troopers that a black Mercedes traveling eastbound passed his tow truck on the shoulder and slammed on his brakes as Senese attempted to exit I-84.  Unable to avoid the collision, Senese struck the Mercedes in the rear.

The two drivers exchanged words according to police. Senese was then standing in front of the Mercedes, attempting to take a picture of the license plate, when the Millerton man got back into the Mercedes and struck the tow truck driver before driving off.

The tow truck driver was evaluated at the scene, and declined additional medical treatment.

Robert J. Sheehan, 56, of Millerton, New York was located on the Taconic State Parkway by Stormville patrols and found to be intoxicated. Sheehan was charged with Misdemeanor DWI and issued traffic tickets.

He was then turned over to troopers from the Wappingers barracks where he was charged with Reckless Endangerment in the second-degree for striking Senese on I-84
