Police: In-Law Murdered Elderly Hudson Valley Woman
An extended family member who fatally shot himself is believed to be behind the murder of a 75-year-old Hudson Valley woman.
At a news conference on Wednesday, Carmel police said that 69-year-old Filippo Buffone of Harrison killed Perla Gatchalian at her Mahopac home last Thursday.
Buffone was the father-in-law of Gatchalian's daughter. It’s believed his motive was related to financially issues, reports ABC. Police identified him as the suspected 24 hours after the murder.
Buffone was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound near his Westchester home on Tuesday.
The alleged murder weapon was found Tuesday in Yorktown, police say.
