A Hudson Valley man is accused of crashing his car while impaired by drugs and alcohol, resulting in the injuries of two people in another car.

Late Thursday, New York State Police from Highland announced the arrested of 57-year-old Stephen S. Bautista of Gardiner following an investigation into a two-car accident in the Town of Plattekill.

Police alleged Bautista was intoxicated when he crashed his car into another car on Route 44/55 in the town of Plattekill last Sunday. The driver and passenger of the other car were injured, officials say. Authorities didn't go into details regarding the crash.

Bautista was charged with vehicular assault, a felony, and driving while ability impaired by drugs and alcohol, a misdemeanor.

Bautista was arraigned in Town of Plattekill Court remanded to Ulster County Jail in lieu of bail.
