
Police: Hudson Valley Man 3 Times Over Legal Limit Parks in Middle Of Street, Causes Traffic Jam
A drunk Hudson Valley man is accused of driving three times over the legal limit and parking in the middle of the road, causing a traffic jam.
Around 6 p.m. Friday, Saugerties Police responded to a 911 call reporting an erratic vehicle operating in the Village of Saugerties. Authorities found the car, after it parked in the east bound land of Main Street in Saugerties, causing a traffic jam, police say.
Officers conducted a vehicle and traffic stop and allege that the driver, 32-year-old Arturo J. Candia of Stone Ridge was intoxicated. He was taken into custody and processed at Saugerties Police Headquarters with .24% BAC, officials say.
Candia was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated, misdemeanors, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and parking on pavement, violations.
Candia was released to a sober third party and is scheduled to appear in Village of Saugerties Court on Jan. 9 to answer his charges.
