
Police: 70-Year-Old from Putnam County Admits to Driving After Smoking Crack Cocaine
A 70-year-old Putnam County man was stopped for driving with a suspended license. He later allegedly told police he had just smoked crack cocaine.
On Tuesday around 5:15 p.m., Town of Kent Police stopped a car driven by Robert Geddes, of Kent on Ludingtonville Road knowing that he was driving with a suspended license.
During the stop, officer’s allegedly found several glass pipes and a small amount of crack cocaine. Geddes then told police he recently smoked cocaine.
Geddes was placed under arrest and evaluated by a certified drug recognition expert, who determined Geddes was under the influence of drugs.
Geddes was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and 3rd-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Geddes was released on his own recognize and ordered to appear in Kent Court of April 20.
