Patricia “Patty” Ann (Masker) Gass, a Sydney Resident, Dies at 75

Patricia “Patty” Ann (Masker) Gass, of Sydney, NY, a former LPN in New Jersey, entered peacefully into rest on April 16, 2017 at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh. She was 75.

The daughter of the late Rodney B. Masker (Franklin Lakes, NJ) and the late Martha (Walters) Lisi (Montrose, PA) she was born August 8th, 1941 in Patterson, NJ. She graduated from Ramsey High School in 1959 and Bergen Pines Nursing Division in 1980.

Patty was a beloved Mother, Mother-in-Law and Grandmother who grew up in Franklin Lakes, NJ. She enjoyed her bowling league at Fair Lawn Lanes in Fair Lawn, NJ. She worked hard to support and raise her sons. A dedicated nurse, she worked mainly in geriatrics. After she became disabled in 1995 she moved to upstate New York where she enjoyed many family gatherings, holidays and outings with her son, Kenneth, his wife Robin and daughter, Laura. She made many friends there.

Patty leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Kenneth R. Gass and his wife, Robin L. Gass of Sydney, NY; former daughter-in-law, Diane Buis-Brown of PA; a brother, Rodney Masker of South Carolina; sisters, Margaret Masker-Post of New Jersey, Debra Masker-Stern of Hackettstown, NJ, Laura Masker-Holland also of NJ, John and Linda (Gass) Stibich  brother-in-law and sister-in-law of Palm Coast, FL; grandchildren, Lauren (Gass) Johnson and Freddie J. Johnson III of Allentown, PA, Stephen Gass and his fiancé, Jennifer of Allentown, PA, Arthur Gass III and partner, Christine and Laura (Gass) Rogers and her husband, Kevin of Sydney, NY; great-grandchildren, Alana and Arthur Rogers, Sage and Zaria Johnson, Alyssa, Rachel, Ciara  and Stephen  Gass and Arthur Jillian and Juliette Gass; and 17 nieces and nephews.

Patty was predeceased by her beloved son, Arthur Gass, Jr. who died in March of 2015 and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur and Deloris Gass.

Services are private at the convenience of the family.
