Oh Deer
Deer season went rather well here in the Hudson Valley. Last week the Department of Environmental Conservation released the preliminary results of the season. New Yorkers took over 200,000 deer in 2016 which is a 5% increase from last year.
With that being said, I'm sure Hudson Valley hunters have some interesting stories about interaction with deer. I don't know if it's because deer season is ending or maybe because spring is just about to begin, but I haven't gone a day without seeing a video on my Facebook time line of a deer tackling a human. More specifically this one:
According to the Huffington Post, 25 year old Cary McCook was getting out of his car in Smithers British Columbia and was heading into a hotel when he was leveled by a deer. The more I watch it, the more it looks like it really hurts. Unfortunately for McCook, the incident took place on April Fools Day and no one believed him. That is until the hotel gave them their security cam footage.
So for all the Hudson Valley deer hunters out there, have you ever had a crazy experience with a deer? Let us know on Facebook!
